Her family has never been a family that is “into” cars, and most of them don’t see a point in spending a lot of money on cars, but after talking with them on vacation this weekend and knowing the cars they have now, they’ve owned some decent ones. These are cars her parents and extended family have owned.
Past jalop-worthy cars:
Mercury Capri (80's vintage fastback, believe it had a V8)
Thunderbird Turbo Coupe
E30 318i convertible
Subaru Outback wagon
‘13 Mazda 6 Grand Touring (I loved this one, her dad got tint on it, was the dark red color, absolutely beautiful)
Built TJ wrangler sand dune/overland build
07 Silverado Diesel Built
Current:
2015 Civic Si Sedan
C5 allroad 2.7T (the one I mention often, this thing is mint, bought new by her uncle)
01 Tundra V8 (boat/toy hauler)
MK7 GTI
‘16 Focus ST
Early 00's Sierra sand dune/overlander
Chevy trailblazer
I feel like there’s more and I’m forgetting them.
Dishonorable mentions:
Dodge stratus and grand caravans
Mazda CX-3 (to be given to my GF. She’s falling for the CUV ugh)
Excluding the built cars, the rest are owned by those who don’t have any interest in car enthusiasm.
Anyone else have family or know families like this? Those who don’t actually have a genuine interest in cars but still manage to have cool ones?

Yea, all that good taste just happens by accident. They are sleeper gearheads. Beware.

My grandparents were not car people per se, but they did manage to own some very cool rides over the years.
49 Mercury convertible
68 Mustang convertible (my mom learned to drive in that one)
74 Camaro
My personal favorite, a 70 Chrysler 300 Hurst edition that my grandpa DD’d until ‘78. I managed to track down the guy he sold it to in 99, and he remembered the name of the guy he sold it to. That guy was long since dead, and the trail went could there.
